Are we there yet?

5/10/2014

Picture
By golly, I think we're pretty close!
Flights, hotels, stick-shift cars (preferably Fiat 500c), scooters, Aida opera, and galleries are booked. This blog page is built and the dog's nails have been trimmed.  My little car has been claimed by a god-daughter for the summer and the lower loft is available for overnight rental for a small fee payable in Euros directly to me. Tucker and Tyson are staying home to enjoy the backyard and pool.  Tucker is on EasyMobility homeopathic meds which seem to be allowing her to enjoy romping in the backyard.

The trip itinerary includes but is not limited to: Catania, Lipari, Scopello, Palermo, Enna, Paterno, Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Urbino, Gubbio, Spello, Rome, Agrigento, Syracuse, Sorrento, Naples, Orvieto, Siena, Pisa, Corniglia, Mantua, Verona, Selva di val Gardena, Natters Austria, Frankfurt and Offenheim  Germany.

Starting on June 13, and over the 88 days, I will have four travel partners at different times; Karen, Keith, Britt and Mom. I also will have quite a few days on my own following Piero della Francesca  (Just call him Piero) through the medieval centre of Arezzo to Urbino.  I will hang out at Raphael's house for a while and I will spend a number of days in Rome. My Italian language skills are still at a pre-junior kindergarten level so I am hoping to learn a lot while I am there. I know important phrases like: Dove il bagno (Where's the washroom?)  and Io sono dove?(I am where?)

I am using this blog page for communication this trip, so bookmark this page and check it every couple of days. Posting updates this way will allow for a little more creativity and the ability to post movies, audio or pictures as we travel along. Share the link with anyone who you know would be interested, or upon whom you wish to force interest! *S* Feel free to post a comment or email me directly.

So, stay tuned to this page; whatever gets posted will be a surprise to all of us!  All the travellers involved are getting pretty excited that the day of departure is getting closer ... we're almost there!
