Do Not Buy and Spade and Co. Watch: Here's Why!
My entire experience with Spade and Co. has been horrendous. Let me start at the beginning.
November 28, 2021 I had been looking for a Health watch and an advertisement was posted by Spade and Company on Facebook. I clicked the link, read about the watch, and thought it sounded pretty good, so I placed an order for two. One was for me and the other was to donate to our hospital annual wellness activity prizes. By December 14th the watches had not arrived, so I wrote to Spade and Company to cancel the order. They replied and said the watches were shipped December 4 so they couldn’t cancel the order. When I complained to the better Business Bureau about them, Spade and Company replied to the BBB that the order had shipped on November 28th? Well, which is it? November 28 or December 4th. The watches finally arrived on January 12 at 1:46 pm., even though their tracking app shows that it is still at the airport in California. It clearly shows on the packaging that Spade and Company didn’t ship the watches until December 29, 2021. So, the people at this company have been lying all along about shipping on November 28, or December 4th. The package arrived torn, and it is surprising that the watches were even in the packing. Aside from all the Spade and company poor customer service so far, let me tell you about the watches. I ordered their “Gold” watch and matching band, as I prefer gold to black or solid colours they provide, plus the band is very adjustable and I have a small wrist so wanted to be able to have the watch fit without slipping around all day. The “gold” watch is “brass” colour, not gold at all. I wasn’t expecting actual “gold” I was expecting gold colour, like the gold on an iphone, or the gold on any other cheap watch. It should be marketed as “brass” or “Bronze” colour, not "gold". It took a while to get the watch synchronised to the phone using their GloryFit app but it finally connected. Once connected, I went about looking for a watch face; one with the time in large letters, and then fitness data like heart rate, temperature, etc. The watch faces that are available are immature and look like they were created by a 6-year-old. They are not professional and are an embarrassment. Some of the face watches still have Chinese lettering on them even though the watch is set for English. The watch will not hold a charge - it arrived at 1:45 pm. I opened the watch and let it sit for an hour to be sure it was at room temperature and then I plugged it in to charge. Once it was at 100 % charged and I had connected it to the phone, I had it read my body temperature. 105.8 … yep… that’s what this watch constantly reads…. 105.8! I looked up online about having a temperature this high and it suggested that I go to Emergency right away… which of course, I did not do because I am perfectly well and this watch is a piece of crap. Blood pressure - is also ridiculous - my Blood pressure is always 120 over 70 and this reads 142 over 85 - which suggests I have blood pressure issues, which I don’t. This watch constantly reads at this level. I wore it to bed that night to see how it measures sleep. When I woke up at 5 the watch was completely dead, so the battery doesn’t even hold a charge overnight I charged it again yesterday, and let it sit on my desk all day after it was at 100%. I didn’t wear it at all. When I got to my desk this morning, the watch was completely dead again. So even when you don’t use it, it can’t hold a charge. I can’t tell you much more about the functions of the watch because, well, it is dead. And there is no sense charging it because it will be dead by morning. What’s nice about this watch is that I ordered the “brass” watch band to go with it. It is comfortable and I don’t even realize that the watch is on my arm, which is interesting because the watch is NOT on my arm because the battery is dead. So, I might as well not wear it. So, I need Spade and Company to refund my money. Refund it now. Once the refund is on my Visa I will mail the watches back to them. I know this is going to be a big fight with them because they have been constantly lying. I have responded to the Better Business Bureau again, to see if they can help. In summary - you get what you pay for. If you want a watch that works, by from a real company, like Amazon, or Apple. Don’t waste your time with Spade and Company and especially don’t give them any money. And don’t buy a watch to donate to a hospital fitness program as having a constant temperature of 105.8 might concern some of the medical people. PS - I just had the watch check my body temperature to see if I am dead or alive today and guess what?... my temperature is still 105.8!
