Are you ready for this?

The following three statues are in the Bargello Museum. We saw all three of them.  They are made by the same guy but he is really only famous for one version.

    14. In the same building as above is the mosaic of this Christ figure. In Christian iconography what is the picture of Christ called when it is large and he is blessing all the little people? In the picture I am showing you here, he is not blessing anyone so it is not one of these types of images, but it reminds me of one. On our trip, this image is the closest you got to seeing one.

This fountain has suffered a great deal of damage during the centuries. It was used as a washbasin for laundry at the end of the 16th century. It was vandalized on January 25, 1580. A satyr was stolen during the carnival in 1830. It was damaged again by the Bourbon bombardments of 1848. Consequently, it has been the object of several restorations and substitutions. In 2005 the right-hand of the sea god was cut off.  The fountain is in Florence, situated on the Piazza della Signoria (Signoria square), in front of the Palazzo Vecchio.  You stood in front of this fountain.

In this next scenario, we are climbing the steps of the Duomo with the million other tourists who stood in line for an hour. The answer to the next question is going to be hard because you don't really know anything about the guy who is the answer to this question. I keep dropping his name in these quizzes and you are probably thinking I am making up the name? Although he wasn't such a great or well-known artist, he was an important guy. He painted a lot, he worked with the Medici family, he designed the enclosed walkway of Ponte Vecchio. He wrote an important history of the artists, which isn't always correct, but I still would be happy if you would buy me a copy!

An architectural feature which is a covered exterior gallery or corridor usually on an upper level, or sometimes ground level is called a _________. The outer wall is open to the elements, usually supported by a series of columns or arches. This architectural feature can be located either on the front or side of a building and is not meant for entrance but as an out-of-door sitting room.  Look to the left of the picture, where the statues are and you will see one in the main square in Florence.  You also saw one in Siena.
